Looking for an amazing vegan dish idea to impress your friends? This one is our guilty pleasure! Vegan BBQ Ribs, DELIGHTFUL! If you like the idea of something a little naughty and juicy, but looking to cook vegan food, the Bosh seitan ribs are just that! We hooked up with our friend Kate from Animal Equality to make these amazingly meaty “ribs”. They were unbelievable in terms of taste & texture, we thoroughly recommend that you make them at home!

Ingredients

For the ribs

  • 2 tbsp Nutritional yeast flakes
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp liquid smoke
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 120g vital wheat gluten
  • pepper to taste
  • 180ml vegetable stock

For brushing

  • 50g BBQ sauce

To serve

  • roasted tomatoes
  • oven fries
  • little pot of BBQ sauce

Before you start

Preheat the oven at 180℃ l Mixing Bowl l Oven Tray

Step 1

Make the seitan

  • Put all the ingredients (apart from the bbq sauce) in a bowl & mix it together into a ball - don't be afraid to get your hands in there & knead it if it's misbehaving
  • Pop the mixture onto a lightly greased oven tray & stretch it into the desired shape - if it’s a little unruly, don’t be surprised
  • Pop the dish into the oven & bake for 20 minutes at 180℃ 

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Nutritional yeast flakes
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp liquid smoke
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 120g vital wheat gluten
  • pepper to taste
  • 180ml vegetable stock

Step 2

Add the BBQ sauce

  • Take the dish out, brush with the bbq sauce & bake for a further 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 50g BBQ sauce

Step 3

Serve and enjoy

  • Take out the oven, cut into “ribs” and serve immediately with fries, roast tomatoes & a pot of bbq sauce for dipping
