Spice up your tofu game this weekend with this quick and super delicious tofu recipe. Scored and topped with a spicy chilli sauce that brings sticky soy vibes its then finished with a fresh cucumber and chilli sauce.

For the Silken Tofu

<item-todo-done>1 block of silken tofu<item-todo-done><item-todo-done>2 spring onions<item-todo-done><item-todo-done>½ cucumber<item-todo-done><item-todo-done>3 cloves of garlic<item-todo-done><item-todo-done>10g fresh ginger<item-todo-done><item-todo-done>½ tbsp crispy chilli oil<item-todo-done><item-todo-done>1 tbsp sesame oil<item-todo-done><item-todo-done>2 tbsp brown sugar<item-todo-done><item-todo-done>4 tbsp soy sauce<item-todo-done><item-todo-done>1 tsp rice wine vinegar<item-todo-done><item-todo-done>1 tsp white sesame seeds<item-todo-done><item-todo-done>1 tsp black sesame seeds<item-todo-done>

Before you start

Frying Pan

Prepare the veg

  • Finely chop the spring onions, separating the white and green parts
  • Slice the cucumber in half lengthways and scoop out the watery flesh
  • Finely dice the rest of the cucumber
  • Peel and mince the garlic and ginger

Cook the chilli sauce

  • Heat a frying pan over a medium heat with the sesame oil
  • Add the white parts of the spring onion, garlic, ginger and chilli toast for 1 minute until fragrant
  • Add the brown sugar, rice wine vinegar and soy sauce and bring to a simmer for 2 minutes to reduce until slightly thickened
  • Take off the heat and stir through the green parts of the onion and sesame seeds

Assemble and serve

  • Drain the tofu from the liquid and place on kitchen paper to remove extra moisture
  • Transfer to a plate and slice
  • Spoon over the chilli sauce and garnish with cucumber and crispy onions to serve
