Choconana Protein Shake
This gut-healthy choconana protein shake is the one we keep coming back to on busy mornings. Blended oats feed your gut microbiome with prebiotic fibre, and paired with peanut butter, cocoa, and banana it tastes more like a thick chocolate milkshake than anything remotely virtuous. We blend it all up in about five minutes and honestly it keeps us going for hours. Top it with a swirl of squirty cream and a handful of dried banana slices and suddenly breakfast feels like a treat.

Tips & Variations
- Freeze your bananas first: Peel them, freeze overnight, and your shake comes out thick and cold without watering down the flavour.
- Don't skip the cocoa dust: A final dusting of cocoa powder on top makes it look brilliant and adds a little bitter hit that balances the sweetness.
- Adjust the sweetness: The maple syrup is optional. If your bananas are very ripe you probably won't need it at all.
Why This Works
Rolled oats are the secret weapon here. They don't just add creaminess and body, they bring prebiotic fibre that genuinely feeds the good bacteria in your gut. Freezing the bananas before you blend them takes the whole thing to another level of thick and creamy, no ice needed.
